David Elashoff, PhD, presenting on “Strategies for Data Collection”

David Elashoff recieved his PhD in Statistics from Stanford University in 2000. Dr. Elashoff is a Professor of Medicine, Biostatistics, and Computation Medicine at UCLA and Director of the Department of Medicine Statistics Core. He serves as Leader for the Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) program for the UCLA CTSI. He also serves as the Co-Leader of the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (JCCC) Biostatistics Program (BASE). His main areas of expertise are in the design and analysis of biomarker development studies and in clinical trials. He has extensive collaborative experience on a variety of basic science, clinical research, and clinical trials research projects, including those with members of the Department of Medicine, School of Medicine, Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (JCCC), other UCLA Health Sciences Schools (Dentistry, Nursing and Public Health), and investigators at the CTSI partner institutions. Dr. Elashoff serves as the co-Director of the UCLA Master’s of Clinical Research program in which he teaches courses on clinical trial design, scientific communication, and statistical methods.
