Sarah Young-Mi Song, MD, MPH, an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurological Sciences, Rush University School of Medicine, Chicago, IL, received a Doctorate of Medicine and Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, IL. Dr. Song’s research interests include race and stroke outcomes, emergency medical services and acute stroke, and stroke-prevention interventions for minority communities.

Projects
“A community partnered approach to improving stroke symptom recognition and response in elderly Korean-Americans.” Dr. Song’s RCMAR/CHIME- and UCLA CTSI-funded project aimed to improve stroke knowledge with effective stroke education within the vulnerable population of Korean-American elderly, and to use this project as the basis for a larger, more focused risk-factor intervention project for elderly Korean-Americans.
