Didra Brown Taylor, PhD, MA, an Instructor in the College of Science (COS) and Health Faculty, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, received a Doctorate of Philosophy from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles, CA, and a Master of Arts in Urban Health from the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science of Medicine and Science, Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Brown Taylor received graduate training in multicultural community-clinical psychology and specializes in culturally appropriate community-based research methodology for inclusion of African American and Latino participants.

Projects

“The utility of the CARET for use with older African-American at-risk drinkers.” Dr. Brown Taylor’s RCMAR/CHIME-funded project was one in which she collected data from a sample of adults age 55 and older from an ongoing randomized controlled trial of a personalized screening and brief preventive intervention method to reduce at-risk drinking at three health care organizations.
