Bruce Ovbiagele, MD, MSc, MAS

Bruce Ovbiagele, MD, Professor of Neurology and Associate Dean at the University of San Francisco as well as Chief of Staff at the San Francisco VA Health Care System, received a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, West Africa, and is particularly interested in the field of secondary stroke prevention in minority elders.

Project

“Adaptation and Development in high-risk Hispanic Elderly patients of a Report card intervention to prevent vascular Events (ADHERE).” Dr. Ovbiagele’s RCMAR/CHIME-funded project was one in which he developed a stroke patient report card intervention that contains important elements specific to enhancing stroke treatment adherence in elderly Spanish-speaking-only Hispanic stroke patients.
