RCMAR CHIME Alumnus Named Emerging Leader in Health and Medicine
Dr. Utibe Essien, assistant professor at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine and RCMAR CHIME alumnus, has been named one of only 10 Emerging Leader in Health and Medicine Scholars by the National Academy of Medicine. This prestigious three-year appointment recognizes Essien’s pioneering work in addressing racial and ethnic disparities in medication access, particularly in cardiovascular care. Known for coining “pharmacoequity,” Essien joins a select group shaping the future of health and medicine.
