  • “Use of a computer-guided approach to diabetic education in Mexican American elders.” Dr. Srikanthan’s RCMAR/CHIME-funded project was one in which she proposed to develop a computerized diabetes education program that would provide a platform for investigation of the effect of different learning programs on cognitive preservation in elderly Hispanics based on studies indicating that computer use improves the self-esteem and mental stimulation of elders in general self resulting in improved competencies and autonomy.
