About
Mienah Sharif takes an intersectional approach towards examining the nature and determinants of health and social inequities among racial and ethnic minority groups across the lifecourse. Her work addresses questions about the influence of structural factors, differential exposure to adverse social conditions and psychosocial factors on indicators of health and wellbeing across various life stages. As a mixed-methods researcher guided by the principles of social justice and equity, she prioritizes community-engaged research that aims to guide health and social policies addressing inequities. Mienah is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Center for the Study of Racism, Social Justice and Health at UCLA and is a member of the COVID-19 Task Force on Racism & Equity which is a collaboration between the Center for the Study of Racism, Social Justice and Health and the Department of Urban Public Health and Charles R. Drew University School of Medicine and Science. Mienah holds an MPH and PhD from the Department of Community Health Sciences at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
