Bruce Ovbiagele, MD, Professor of Neurology and Associate Dean at the University of San Francisco as well as Chief of Staff at the San Francisco VA Health Care System, received a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, West Africa, and is particularly interested in the field of secondary stroke prevention in minority elders.

  • “Adaptation and Development in high-risk Hispanic Elderly patients of a Report card intervention to prevent vascular Events (ADHERE).” Dr. Ovbiagele’s RCMAR/CHIME-funded project was one in which he developed a stroke patient report card intervention that contains important elements specific to enhancing stroke treatment adherence in elderly Spanish-speaking-only Hispanic stroke patients.
