UCLA's ELHA Lab Pushes for More Education About Brain Health

The Celebration of Día de los Muertos across the nation serves not only as a tribute to the departed but also as an opportunity for the Equity for Latinx/Hispanic Healthy Aging (ELHA) Lab at UCLA to initiate conversations about brain health. Latinos are 1.5 times more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease than their white counterparts, but make up a small fraction of participants in the research. Founder of the ELHA Lab, Mirella Díaz-Santos (UCLA, RCMAR, CHIME ALUMNA 2019-20) is leading an effort to co-create and build partnerships with community-based organizations.
